A Fresh Start for the Future

    Scripture:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

    Proverbs 3:5-6

    Encouragement:

As we approach a new year, many of us take time to reflect on the past and set resolutions for the coming months. We want to start fresh, with a new focus and a renewed sense of purpose. What better way to do this than in partnership with God?

When we rely on God and allow Him to guide our goals and priorities, we can be confident that they align with His will for us. This doesn’t mean everything will be easy or that there won’t be challenges, but it does provide a strong foundation and direction for our actions.

But how do we actually go about setting new priorities in partnership with God? Prayer is a vital first step. Ask God to reveal any areas where you may need to realign your priorities and surrender them to Him. Then, be open to the guidance He provides through His word, wise counsel, and promptings of the Holy Spirit.

As you consider your goals for the new year, ask yourself if they align with God’s desires for your life. Are they leading you towards a closer relationship with Him and furthering His kingdom? If not, it may be time to make some adjustments.

It can also be helpful to involve a trusted friend or mentor in this process. Share your goals and priorities with them and ask for their input and accountability.

As you move forward, commit to trusting in God’s plan and allow Him to lead the way. With Him at the helm, you can enter this new year with a fresh focus and launch into it with purpose and passion!

    Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for the opportunities you give us to start fresh and set new priorities in partnership with You. Help me to fully rely on You as I seek Your guidance in setting my goals this year. May all that I do align with Your will and bring You glory. Amen.
